Stainless steel is the only option for a product that must withstand high temperatures and the outdoor conditions of our climate.

Interior: Ordinary steels deteriorate at high temperatures, starting at around 400 degrees. The material burns and particles break off. In addition to the gradual weakening of the material, this also poses a hygiene problem, especially when handling food.

Stainless steel can withstand temperatures of over 800 degrees. At such temperatures, the material may change color but retains its strength and remains smooth. In addition, it is easy to clean. It is not without reason that stainless steel is used in various applications in professional kitchens.

Exterior: Iron covered with wet paint will rust and is therefore very sensitive to maintenance.

The exterior of the Braaimaster is made of stainless steel or CORTEN steel. Powder-coated stainless steel remains beautiful, even in the long term. In case of damage, this is not a problem thanks to the base coat. The material will not rust. Similarly, CORTEN steel is completely maintenance-free and very well suited to our climate.

CORTEN steel, often referred to as weathering steel, is completely maintenance-free. An oxide layer forms to protect the underlying material. CORTEN steel gives outdoor products a very natural look. The CORTEN Braaimaster is delivered unfinished and will develop a beautiful patina over time.

The Braaimaster is designed entirely with a double-wall structure, which prevents the exterior from becoming too hot. This makes the appliance safe to use and also allows it to be installed under a shelter.

There are several ways to install the Braaimaster in your sunroom. The most common methods are:

STAND-ALONE MODEL Easy to install in an existing or new conservatory or garden shed. Installation with double-walled materials passing through the conservatory roof. In this case, the Braaimaster is supplied with an adapter for connection to double-walled flues.

BUILT-IN MODEL For integration into a stone structure. You can opt for attractive facing bricks, or concrete blocks covered with a layer of white plaster or natural stone slats.

The Braaimaster can be used with charcoal and wood. In general, the harder the wood, the better. Woods such as oak or ash are suitable, but African woods such as Sekelbos and Kameeldoring offer the best results.

Potjies and Dutch Ovens are made of cast iron, a porous material that provides excellent heat conduction, ideal for open-fire cooking. After use, clean them thoroughly without using soap, grease them regularly with oil (sunflower oil) and keep them dry. Instructions for first use and maintenance are provided with the product and can also be requested separately. Over time, these utensils develop a protective layer that improves them, making a good cast iron pot an investment for life.
